Motorcycle post

bah, so I'm a little depressed/stressed out right. But it's really because of stupid stuff. My budget is just a tad short of getting the motorcycle I really want (Ninja 250) this weekend. I did look at a nice 92 Honda Nighthawk with 21K on the clock. It was in good shape, the tires looked good. I low balled a little and made the guy an offer. He ( Read more... )

Because both my scooters and down and I'm really itching to learn how to ride.

After seeing a a few videos on the Nighthawk, I really want one more than I thought I did. haha

I like the Nighthawk better, I think, as far as looks go. I know absolutely nothing about bikes, so that is all I can really comment on :)

I thought you already knew how to ride. Is there a big difference between scooters and bikes as far as driving is concerned?

Yeah, and I think it would look cool eating a Nighthawk TV dinner while sitting on my Nighthawk. haha. My scooters were CVT/centrifugal clutch type transmissions. I don't have to shift gears on my scooters. And on scooters that you can shift, it's pretty easy since it's all done with your left hand. On a bike you have to use your left hand for the clutch and your left foot to shift. I understand how the operation goes, I've just never done it before. I've been watching a ton of training videos on youtube. A friend of mine here at work just bought his first bike a few months ago. It was a Nighthawk 650 and I don't think he's ever driven a standard transmission car before and he picked it up pretty quick. I'm pretty sure I can too. I'll just have to increase my dexterity. heh

Now I'm going to go watch Grease II and learn how to look cool on a bike. hehe ;)

go for the larger ... you'll need it once you get off the surface streets ... also go by cycle exchange on durham they are real nice guys and quite a few used bikes. hardly and HD stuff so you have real choices ... they have a web site .... also my friend jim take his bike out to a guy in pasadena clear lake area for repairs ... he swears the next time he buys a bike he's gonna go to him first ... he get bike in for repairs them and if the owner abandons the bike he sells the for the cost of repairs always has three or four for sale.

Also do the motorcyucle safety class all the community collges offer them on the weekend. they provide the bikes all you need is a helment, boots and a long slleve shirt. once you do the class they test you for the road skills and all you have to do is take the written exam. supposeddly very few people pass the road skills with a trooper at the dps office ..... plus the class is really goood it gets your skills up very quick
