How do you like to read?

Poll How do I like to readPersonally, I like a paperback and an audio book. That way, i can read at home, but listen in the car.  Recently, though, I've been digging reading eBooks on the iPad, or even my iPhone, because you can read with all the lights out, and your not bugging anyone.

I like a hard cover because I can set it down in front of me and it doesn't try to close itself if I prop it up against something instead of holding it.

I've never listened to an audio book, nor have I read anything using an e-book. I'm old-fashioned I guess. :x

I much prefer to read a real physical book, but since I can carry hundreds on my little pocket reader at a fraction of the weight (not to mention apartment space), I've been going eBook for the last year.

I've recently purchased a Kindle. They're a good thing: I can bring a dozen newspapers and a hundred books in my jacket pocket.

But I can't enjoy audio books. If I'm trying to keep track of something complicated -- like a deep story -- then I need to be able to flip back and re-read what's come before.

I prefer totally low-tech when it comes to reading. Not only do I not have the gadgets necessary to do it conveniently electronically (nor do I particularly want them, nor want to rely upon them), but I'm sitting in front of the computer enough as it is that I like to curl up with an actual book elsewhere than my desk to read. Plus, physical books never run out of batteries and are fairly hard to break, they double as decor (sort of...!?!), and they smell and feel good, too. Yes, I'm the complete and total luddite when it comes to reading...

I loathe E-books. And I'm afraid they'll take over regular books.
They hurt my eyes, I can't read on a screen or monitor.

I love the smell and feel of old books. I like turning pages. I love books, and will have a massive library one day. (well, massive as in bigger than I already have)
