Even MORE sympathy . . . and hopes that you've had your share of bad things for a while and the cycle will now turn upwards. Have a nice glass of cabernet with your chocolate . . .
I wanted to pass a web reference to you-- www.thepetcenter.com/exa/diarrhea.html This site has info about a lot of things that can produce chronic diarrhea. Also links to a page about giardia (www.thepetcenter.com.exa/gia.html) that is more expansive than many references. You may have found all this information already, but if not, it might suggest some things your vet hasn't checked for yet.
I was interested to see that this site included thyroid disease as a possible underlying cause. Jean Dodds DVM has done some work showing that the normal values for thyroid hormones are different from the typical standard values in greyhounds (so maybe other sighthounds too?). I'm a little neurotic about checking thyroids so that rang a bell with me.
THANK YOU for the addresses. No, I haven't seen these. Life is kind of *overwhelming*, you know? And sometimes it's hard to get your head up long enough to look in another direction. I've been concentrating on diet and homeopathy, and what my vets say, and also trying not to demand instant miracles, you know? But this has been going on AS LONG AS I'VE HAD THEM.
so sorry about your &*^%*(&%(*%&^ day. I left the candle burning as it seemed called for, diverting it from bells to hellhounds; now I've added your car also.
I won't make any suggestions about the hellhounds' stomach events as I'm sure that you will have tried a huge range of options already. I absolutely agree with you about not vaccinating every year. Maybe you know about canine health concern http://www.canine-health-concern.org.uk/ who campaign about over-vaccination and promote alternative treatments including homeopathy, and unprocessed diets.
I will just offer cyber sympathy from someone who is really grateful when all my beasts don't squirt together - only happened once, but a dozen dogs a-squirting meant ten vetbeds washing, eight dog crates drying, six ingredients banned, four diets planned, two vets blood testing, and one owner stressing loads & loads :(
Hope everything starts getting better immediately, including your weather. 2nd candle now lit
LOL--sorry--mustn't laugh--laughing. Extra points to *you* for MAKING me laugh over diabolical things . . .
Yes. After Hazel died of 'vaccinosis' and Holly nearly followed her, I got pretty goddam bent out of shape over over vaccination and vaccination issues. I'm at least half convinced that it's the routine puppy start-up vacs that have done my hellhounds as it is.

Quick, get the deliberator! Call the ambulance. Perhaps you can get an emergency resuscitation!!!
Seriously, I hope that it all works out and gets fixed!
