Dog links

I’ve been downstairs at the cottage most of the evening struggling with the Downstairs Laptop.  (Peter played bridge tonight so I came back here from Almost Sacred Wednesday Bell Practise*).  I don’t feel it has any call to be as tiresome as it has chosen to be tonight, but I have one or two moral imperatives left and one of them says that you don ( Read more... )

Great links, thank you so much! I shamefacedly admit to being addicted to cuteness overload, along with the bizarre internetness that is http://icanhascheezburger.com . I had rather a stressful and tiring day myself, finishing with a migraine made worse by my deciding that damn it all, I had to go out and plant those Siberian iris my mother gave me on Sunday... there is no end to my dumbness. So a few New Yorker cartoons hit the spot; I do love George Booth. :)

I, too, admit to a bit of a soft spot for lolcats... I have no idea why, but they make me laugh until I cry...

Purple sparkly supplements sound most magical. I'll keep my fingers crossed that they work quickly and effectively.

Of course the hellhounds are part of your family, and of course you worry about them. It's perfectly normal, says the woman who talks to her cats (I have two human daughters as well, but the cats are home with me all day, and yes, they do talk back).

More hugs, and my favorite (and one and only) dog joke:

Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.

I'm going to explore all those doggy links.

*********** You probably don't hold long involved conversations with them while you're walking down the street with other PEOPLE around however.

yes, they do talk back).

*********** Fortunately so do mine, which is, I figure, how I get away with making a spectacle of myself, people just think it's all an elaborate dog training TRICK. Anyway, who needs to bother wearing purple just because she's getting old? :)

Checklist

You're eating >> Breakfast, yes. Lunch, yes. Infinite numbers of cups of tea, yes. Chocolate, yes. Dinner <<

You're getting out

You're (Heath Robinson!) warm >> But I wish to report that my new system of hanging a blanket over a purpose-built railing just inside the front door works a treat.... )

I have cats, I sure if I adopted a dog I'd eventually become unallergic (it worked with cats...but I only get nasal stoppage/sneezing) but there is a member of my household who is turn-red-and-swell-up allergic. The limited 'pet' allergy shots she took worked for cats but not for dogs. Apparently the protein that makes people allergic to cats is the same for all cats from housecats to lions, in dogs there are four or five proteins involved and they differ from breed to breed.

The thing I keep thinking of is dogs have chosen to go with us. They surely had a choice when we started walking together those thousands and thousands of years ago and they chose us. as such, it makes me very angry that people would be mean to them or abuse them.

Your "hellhounds" are cherished and I hope the enzymes help them out. They are very lucky to have you. (I, for one, would like to come back as a cat. Unfortunately it would be 'my' cat, my kitties have no worries.
