I should be blind, but I am not. I read all 4 of the Twilight books over the weekend. I really liked the books, maybe as much as the HP series. Gah! Now I am going to have to find some Twilight fanfic too. SO little time, so much to read.

The kids went back to school today (thank God). They both had a good day, which is nice. They have to have indoor recess still because the hurricane blew an arseload of mosquitoes from the coast. We can go all summer without seeing mosquitoes, so this really blows. But the peace and quiet has returned... hooray!!

I am feeling very uneasy about the reports of deaths in the wake of Hurricane Ike. The news is saying only a handful of people died, but I am hearing reports from a guy on a search and recovery team who says there were hundreds of bodies. Why was there a media blackout for days of Galveston's west end and the Bolivar Peninsula? Did they not want ( Read more... )

We got rear-ended yesterday afternoon. It wasn't fun. There was a red Jeep behind us that was acting like it was in a big hurry, and my husband and I both commented about it. I am now cast free and couldn't be happier! Now I can scratch when I itch! The only bad thing is that I can't get any sun on my very pale leg because it's been raining for two days. Oh, well. I feel so free!
