Question for LJ Hive Mind
Does anyone know any stories, novels, or movies that has Father Time as a character? How about Father Time in a reference book, which I imagine would be mythology or folklore?
I'm surprised I can't find more information on this using the Google. -
Relief
The weather changed drastically from the hot-hot-hot to a few days of clouds and some showers. It was such a sudden change, it felt like fall. The sun was back yesterday and today. It's around eighty and not hot-hot-hot. I'm not ready for fall so I'm glad the sun is back ( Read more... ) -
Hot Hot Hot
Temperature has been rising around here, into the high nineties and possibly beyond. I foresee writing and reading at a cool, air-conditioned coffee shop tomorrow. The apartment is so hot the cats have become lackadaisical, sprawling on the cool linoleum or laying on their backs on the bed as if they were human. They get water and darkened ( Read more... ) -
Story Sent
I mailed the first story off for the short story workshop with Shelia Williams. The Forgiving Execution came out at 6500 words. I think I could have done another pass at the ending, but the story needed to done. Now it's sent. Sent by postal mail even. You know, sending stories at the post office feels more writerly to me than sending them ( Read more... ) -

Deadlines
Let's see, I have two short stories (with a third looming ahead). One, a contemporary fantasy, that needs shaping, and this one I was going to send to the Shelia Williams workshop, but it's not science fiction. JayCon
Saturday is JayCon in Portland and we're heading up there AND we're planning on taking the train. Really, gas prices are so high and our car is sooooo old it's burning more gas than it used to = the price of train tickets for the two of us. Why not kick back and relax on the train and read if the cost is the same?
