I am going to have surgery again next Friday.  This time with the "plastic" surgeon.... the beginning of my breast reconstruction process

Yes. Remember to breathe. Maybe meditation would help, as well. Both for recovery, and for focus on breathing.

If Zoom has any troubles with his dentist, we have this child's dentist here with the most bizarre ability to give kids any kind of shot without them knowing it. My kids call getting a cavity filled "teeth tickling" because that is what she calls it. My kids have no issues like I did with the dentist.
