Computer question

I want to get internet service that goes where I go, even out in the middle of nowhere. I think I've seen stuff that fits into a card slot on the computer, and I think I've seen something that clips onto the side of the computer. But don't you have to be near a WiFi spot for that? I want to be able to be in the middle of nowhere...

Because all I can get out on the farm is dial up and it is sooo not worth the money between the service and the phone line costs. My new laptop is wiFi ready. What I have been told is that I can get some sort of doo-hickey from someplace like Best Buy that will boost my signal and I can glom of off any wireless connection in my area. I do know that if I drive out to the main road I can get online with my laptop as is.

Anyway, when I have the money to do it, i am going to go ask someone at Best Buy or perhaps I'll check into that Verizon thing that Michelle mentioned in her reply.

i have the verizon wireless 5250 card- broadband wifi ( which I am using on the train as i type)

As anathemad said it sounds like what you need is a PC mobile broadband card. You by the card and service plan from a wireless phone company, and it will work anywhere that provider has coverage. Here are some to check out:
