Zacharias loved parties, especially when he was throwing them. Granted, that meant he wasn't going to be drinking nearly as much as he wanted, but someone had to make sure no one blew his house up. He'd delegated bartenders to Daphne, a fair bit of decorating to Mandy, and made Megan entertain him. He sort of felt bad asking them to do anything

She was happy to see everyone busy prepping drinks, getting the other party goers properly tipsy. Well, tipsy for the time being. It was only a matter of time until someone got ahead of themselves and was puking in the antique vases in the formal living room.
"Pansy...are you seeing this right?" she asked, laughing. She had settled in with a glass of her signature champagne, people watching with Pansy. But as she scanned the room she caught sight of Riah who was making faces their way. "Our host is looking ridiculous."
Shifting her weight on her five inch heels, Daphne flipped her hair over her shoulder. She felt slightly exposed in her outfit but it was exactly what she had wanted it to be - extreme.

Sighing in disgust, Pansy turned around, only to catch sight of Riah.
She couldn't believe her eyes. "Is he out of his fucking mind?" she replied to Daphne, giving a laugh that was obviously total mockery. "Is he for real?"
Reply
"No manners what so ever." Though, Daphne supposed that was part of his charm. You never knew what he would do next.

Although, the excessive nature of the townhouse was pretty impressive.

It hadn't been easy getting out quietly, but she left a note about being at Lavender's just in case they noticed her absence.
"I'm so glad I'm here," Parvati gushed, looking around the apartment. "Where are the boys?"
She turned to Lavender expectantly, assuming Lav knew where Roger at least was. And where Roger was, Eddie was sure to follow.

"They probably went off to do shots somewhere..." she said, craning her neck to look for them. But there were already so many people there it was hard to see over the crowd. "Maybe the went to get us drinks...but that's wishful thinking."

After the clink, she took a generous sip, enjoying the bubbly feel as it went down.
"What is this?"
It must have been some sort of champagne. Riah had really gone all out.

"I think mine is a strawberry vodka soda," she said, noticing that it had a pink tint to it. Definitely fancier than most parties they went to. "It's delicious"

Snatching a drink from a passing tray, Zacharias cracked up and flung an arm around her shoulders. Things like this were the reasons Megan was his absolute favorite. He took a drink and wrinkled his nose.
"Merlin, no. That's me trying to make Parkinson's head explode. I think she finds me endearing but refuses to admit it. It's hilarity at its finest."

Somehow she had missed the tray of drinks this time around and frowned at her bad luck. Fortunately, another would be by soon enough.
"You're a hit," she grinned up at Riah and squeezed him around the middle with the arm she had thrown around him. "Not that I'm surprised."

That being said, Daphne was still fun. He liked her even though he wasn't sure why she bothered talking to him. Probably the money; it was usually the money. Parkinson was just a giant annoyance who was fun enough to pester that he couldn't bring himself to get too bothered. He had too much fun baiting her to get too bent out of shape when she tried to retaliate.
Laughing, Zacharias pulled Megan closer to him and handed her his drink. He'd grab another one later. "I rock. People love me. This is why I throw these things." Being in high demand for one night usually meant he was in a good mood for weeks.

He'd hung onto Megan for a while, pandered to a couple girls he'd hooked up with, confiscated a set of candlesticks from a pair of fourth year Slytherins (and he really didn't want to know what they'd been planning to do with those

"Is this for me?" she asked, taking the drink and offering him a genuine smile. It looked delicious. "Thanks, Riah. You didn't have to do that."

He took a sip of his own and grinned around the rim of the glass. "But I'm sure you remember."

"Yes, you've always taken care of me at your parties," she said finally.

"Riah, there you are!" she said, finding him as she wandered into one of the main spaces. After the party began to fill up they had gone their separate ways. She gave him a big smile, her head fuzzy from all the champagne.

Thus, the reason he liked parties. Being the center of attention was the only place he knew how to be.
He looked her over and offered up a slow smirk. "Have I mentioned how hot you look? Because, yeah. Damn."
Reply
"It seemed appropriate for this kind of party," she grinned. She quickly finished off what was in her cup then looked around for a bartender.
"But I would imagine you haven't had nearly enough to drink playing host! I want to fix that."
Reply
"Trying to get my drunk? Makes me think you plan on getting me into trouble." Not that he minded, but he was known for finding his own trouble.
