AS PROMISED!...this is the first official installment of my London blog. Be afraid. Since I never do what I’m told, and always manage to make things much weirder and more awkward than they have to be, I’ve called this “The A-B-C and 1-2-3 of London.” If that sounds kind of strange to you, don’t worry. It’s incredibly strange. But if you read it, ( Read more... )

I'm glad Donovan likes it, but it's still a yucky name for a street. Ptooey.

In other news, I'm always fascinated when I find a great band/musician from the '90s that I've just plain never heard about before, not even the name. Such is the case with April March. I know I know, her first name is Elinor and she's not even French, but it's some of the cutest French pop I ever did hear. And I found out about her yesterday. I'm already 21! Practically a grandpa and there's still so much music I haven't discovered.

I think it's a place everyone should try to see at least once. There's just so much here to see and do. I have my own personal experience here, as you can see from what I wrote, and everyone will find something different about it that they will personally enjoy.

Mike Skinner just rubs me the wrong way. It's a combined effect. His voice grates, he whines about how his life stinks and then turns around to extol the virtues of his rich and famous lifestyle (esp. on his last album), and the music is bombastic, discordant and offensively un-subtle. Plus he just looks like a wanker.

Nah, not an RW fan either, and the only reason I'm not bagging on him is because my friends aren't obsessed with the guy like they are with Mike.

Is there a British term "geezer" that differs from the "geezer" I know? (ex: "You old geezer, stop crapping your pants!")

Wanker is indeed the best word in the British English language...kudos to you for pointing that out. Also I think I know what Chavs are. Are they similar to guidos in the US?
