hottest females from the 2008-2009 tv season!
It's been a couple months, but it's list time again! The TV season is wrapping up with a bunch of season finales coming within the next week few weeks, so I figured it's about time for the annual hot lists to begin! Candidates are judged not only on their personality and physical appearance on the show, but off screen as well. As usual, we start with the ladies.

5. THAT GIRL FROM THAT MOVIE: Rose Byrne - Ellen Parsons (Damages)
How'd she fare last year? N/A. As usual, I ended up putting someone on my list who's show I don't really watch.
What makes her hot? Rose has done a couple movies, but didn't quite get recognition until Damages. Though she's got the acting chops for the big screen, it's cool that she's still kickin' it on cable TV. She just seems like a laid-back, genuine, ego-free chick and I like that. Plus, she's got a gorgeous face. Whether she's sad, happy, scared, or beat up and covered in blood, I can't help but look at her and think "Damn, she's pretty." Some girls have all the luck. Rose is the first of a few Aussies that will show up on these lists.
Hottest quality? She trains in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with effing Kyra Gracie. OMG.
4. THE COOL MOM: Connie Britton - Tami Taylor (Friday Night Lights)
How'd she fare last year? I stole her off iminyourfanclub 's honorable mentions list.
What makes her hot? I pray to God that I look that good when I'm in my 40s. How can you not appreciate a woman who looks 10 years younger than she actually is? Connie is just fierce. Anybody who watches Friday Night Lights knows exactly what I'm talking about. The woman takes shit from no one, not even her husband and that's hot.
Hottest quality? Rocks the aviator sunglasses like nobody's business.
3. THE SLUTTY ONE: Sophia Bush - Brooke Davis (One Tree Hill)
How'd she fare last year? Sophia reclaimed her spot at #3 after a dip to #4 last year.
What makes her hot? Okay, so the title I gave her is totally misleading, but Sophia is so good at playing the slutty girl (re: John Tucker Must Die). And while her character has completely tamed her ways (she even adopted a misguided, homeless teenage girl!), I've come to appreciate her new grown-up personality. But, she's still Brooke Davis. She's not afraid to take out anyone who tries to bring her down and she'll do it in style.
Hottest quality? I didn't think it was humanly possible, but that raspy voice got even hotter this year.
2. THE AUSSIE ASSKICKER: Yvonne Strahovski - Agent Sarah Walker (Chuck)
How'd she fare last year? Jumps off the honorable mentions list all the way to #2.
What makes her hot? Yvonne knows she's hot and she isn't afraid to show it. Even though she's frequently prancing around in her undergarments showcasing her abs of steel and Yao Ming length legs, I never feel like she's rubbing it in my face that I will never look that good. Her delicate balance of modesty and confidence is quite endearing. But, Sarah Walker is more than just a tough, physical CIA agent. She's also a fragile human being and Yvonne brings authenticity to all of the many different facets of her character's personality.
Hottest quality? Like Rose Byrne, she has an almost indistiguishable fake American accent. And she's fluent in Polish!
1. THE BADDEST BITCH: Leighton Meester - Blair Waldorf (Gossip Girl)
How'd she fare last year? Leighton leaped off the radar to Queen B. ;)
What makes her hot? Leighton pretty much took the backseat to Blake Lively in season one, but has firmly established herself this year as the heart of the show. And while not everyone may love her (but you're still stupid if you don't), you have to admit that Gossip Girl would be nothing without Blair. What I like most about Leighton, though, is that's she's a beautiful, yet still normal looking girl. She may not have an exotic look or the striking face of a supermodel, but she's still damn hot. She's relatable and seems like one of those people you would have fun doing anything with.
Hottest quality? Being a natural blonde who looks better as a brunette (much love to all the dark-haired girls!).
Honorable Mentions:
* THE KILLER'S KILLER WIFE: Julie Benz - Rita Bennett (Dexter)
Oops, spoiler alert? That title is so bad, but it's all I could think of. Anyway, even though she got even hotter this year, the competition was stiff and Julie is relegated to another year on the honorable mentions list. It also doesn't help that she totally slummed it in Saw V. You're better than that, Julie!
* STILL HOT IN COP CLOTHES: Stana Katic/Sarah Shahi - Det. Kate Beckett/Det. Dani Reese (Castle/Life)
They're both hot, so it's a waste to use up two spots on girls who play pretty much the same role. And sadly, they probably won't be on this list next year (Life is cancelled, and Castle is on the bubble).
* THE JESSICAS OF THE CW: Jessica Szohr/Stroup/Lowndes - Vanessa/Silver/Adrianna (Gossip Girl/90210)
They're all so cute and I couldn't pick just one to fill out the last spot on the HM list, so I figured I'd just throw them all together since they have the same first name. Though their characters may be boring (Szohr), bipolar (Stroup), and about to bear child (Lowndes), I still can't help but love them all.
Where'd they go?
* Emily VanCamp - I actually started watching her show and while I loved her the first two seasons, I'm totally mad at her character this season. Thus, she's off the list.
* Summer Glau - As much as I love her, I hate her show and that was enough to drag her out of the picture.
* Becki Newton - Traded her to iminyourfanclub for Connie Britton (and to be nice).
* Kristen Bell - She got killed off Heroes. And I'm mad at her choice of boyfriend. All the beautiful hair in the world can't save her from that.
