Actually, I lie. I don't leave Brisbane on the 14th, but the 9th. That's three weeks today, aah! Also, I move out of Wedd St. next fortnight
( Read more... )
I feel like a sell-out doing it... but there's more to offer. Long story short - my best friend lives down there, and I miss her like fuck. I'm going to miss lots of people up here, some really badly, but there's some bonds you can't break. Also, I know so many people down there (real Melbournites and ex-pats), and I've felt more at home there the past couple of times there. More opportunities to play shows/collaborate. Easier to get around without a car (I got all my demerit points a fortnight or so ago, waiting for the letter to come...). I'm poor at summer (am currently in my underpants and a t-shirt listening to country music with a fan on me and a beer in my hand). etc!
Good to hear you're makin the move! Just in time for the Endless Summer gootimes. The sun doesn't go down till 10pm in the thick of summer, you can go to beaches (even if they are poxy, they're still kinda fun) and generally run amok in skimpy, fluro clothes.
hoorah! i love twilights! i'm a fan of both real and poxy beaches... i'm one of the few people i know that will willingly go to kodak/breaka/urine beach, but its fun!
although i found out from the kids over the weekend that bulbs are less easy to obtain in melbourne. considering there's an iga a block away from me, i'm going to find this very distressing. but apart from that, can't wait!
there are a few hospitality jobs ive seen around. cafe schmuck work. 'work wanted' signs are about in the city and surrounding areas. pop yr resume into them when you get down here. furthermore, SEE YOU 2-NITE!
TONIGHT! I'll have cold beer upon arrival for y'all. cintra from portugal, $30 a case from across the road. it will be the patron saint of our weekend!
