Simple Pleasures
It was a clear blue sky day today. It does not take much to make me smile when the sun is bright. Today I bought a new CD. Moving on...
As I stare at my bare feet in the shower I can see a fading tan line from sandals worn in a different climate, a different hemisphere. A few articles of clothing still contain the faint odor of smoke, due to my host family's habit of constantly smoking indoors. Even after several washings, the smoke stays, although growing fainter each time. ( Read more... ) -
Meow
So my host sister found a kitten on the street the other day and has decided to take it home and nurse it back to health and then find someone to give it to. Because of this, I now have a little more respect for her. I wasn't aware that she even had a heart.

Kid Gardens
One thing I really enjoy here in Chile is walking by the preschools. Each preschool is painted such a bright color that it could trigger a seizure. Many of them have cartoon characters, such as Charlie Brown and Winnie the Pooh, painted on the side as well as flowers and suns and big white fluffly clouds. So, a few weeks back I mailed a package to the States. Naturally, I've acquired more stuff here than I have room in my suitcases for. I decided to send home my winter clothes, as they are no longer necessary. I stuffed my stuff so tightly into a box that I had to sit on it in order to tape it shut. Just thought I'd look back on my old entries and remember how depressed I was. Sounds like fun, right? -
boy it feels good to hurt.
Today after my finals I was feeling really depressed so I decided to go for a run. I ran a little over three miles and then felt much better. Well, except for my shins, and my knee, and I also felt like i was going to vommit. Maybe if i cut my legs off it will be less painful ( Read more... )
