So, I got a call on Friday from the builder of the community where we bought our new house. Apparently, they've decided that they are unable to build the community at all. Partly it's because sales have been very slow and they can't compete in that location in this market. Mostly, though, it's because some other builder got permission to build a ( Read more... )

So, what does it say about the state of Maryland that of all things, the Anne Arundel County Executive vote is so close (330 vote difference) that it's going to take a recount to sort it out???

So this is it, my last day at NIAID. Seven more hours to go. Feels weird, really. I've been getting plenty of "short-timer" cracks, and I do feel a bit like a dead man walking. So, we ended up having to cancel the cruise we had booked for November. Celebrity started playing games on us with the schedule, changing one port to a port we didn't like as much and removing another (Key West) from the itinerary completely.
