So, in regards to Friday's post, I had a conversation with my boss today that was a little more private than the meeting on Friday.  He had some interesting things to say about his reasoning behind selecting me to man the Helpdesk.  Apparently, the fact that I'm the new guy is only the excuse he used to justify selecting me, without ruffling any

Yay. :) After your last post, I caught it and I'd been wondering how that was going to turn out since you seemed kind of peevish about it.

Yeah, being showered with appreciation is always a good way to put me in a better mood. :-) And like Martin Bosworth told me last night, three months will go by in no time at all. I will miss having an office to myself, though. Still, I knew from the start not to get to comfortable in said office, since the plan was always to move back to the main office after several months here getting to know the user community and the way we do things here.

All in all, there are worse fates than a temporary assignment in Purgatory. :-)
