So what is it lately with people asking us if we're planning to have kids? Do I have a banner over my head or something? I swear I've had more people ask me that in the last month than the entire rest of the year we've been married combined. Well, unless you count my mother. She's been bugging me about grandchildren since I was five. ;-)

Rod and I got that too, right after we were married and a few months had gone by. Everyone just assumes you're going to 'get started' right about then.

Weird, but true.

I told my brother we'd bought a new car a couple of weeks ago, and his first response was "Is Shari pregnant?" Good grief!

Okay, that's pretty fucking funny.

Actually, when I told my old banddirector that I had gotten married, he asked me if I was pregnant. That was just weird and more than a little inappropriate.

But I suppose that having people ask you about kids now is better than having them ask you when you tell them that you are getting married:

"Shari and I are planning on getting married."

"Oh, is she pregnant?"

Anyway, anyone who would be asking you guys about kids now obviously doesn't know you two too well. I'll give it about another three to seven years before I start asking.
