Does anyone have an apple pie recipe that is the THE BEST APPLE PIE in the world? Apple pie is my favorite pie and every year I'm faced with these ingrates who prefer pumpkin or chiffon. My only job for my sister's dinner on Friday is to bring an apple pie and I'm looking for the King of Apple Pie recipes. Normally I do a standard double pastry

I like that you are just completely ignoring The Homo Network RPF I CAN FEEL YOUR JUDGMENT ALL THE WAY FROM INDIANA.

OMG, Sheen, it is SO GOOD. If you make it yourself, you need to use a a very sharp block of full-fat cheese. Basically, once you've added the butter but before you add the water and mix it up until the cheese is floury and then add the ice water so that the cheese melts while it bakes and makes it EXTRA FLAKY and adds a slight cheesiness, the kind of taste you get from homemade cheese straws.

And then you do your apples and grate more cheese over them and make your top crust and ughhhhhh IT IS SO GOOD. I made it with gruyere after I saw the Pushing Daisies episode but you need a really strong gruyere to make it work and I prefer cheddar.
