House Republicans today defeated a measure to undo part of that wretched Patriot Act.  I am upset at both the end and the means.  The measure would have taken away the FBI's power to check our library records and bookstore purchases without a warrant.  I don't like that they can do that one bit ( Read more... )

The National Association of Evangelicals has issued a draft  of a document calling "evangelicals to expand public engagement."  A front-page article in the LA Times explains a bit about the document.  It appears to be a non-traditional document, combining social and economic justice with traditional conservative social values.  I've read the NAE's ( Read more... )
