That was an obsession song for all my sisters and I at once, once upon a time. Don't know why exactly, but I think I'll blame it on the divorce theme throughout. . . .
Well, my parents had the common decency to have their divorce when I was 3 months old, so I don't remember any of it. However, what I take from this song is the disillusionment of childhood...all those false promises parents make, even when it kills a parent inside to make them, knowing they are false...and finding out when you grow up...just how false those promises are....I had reasons of my own for not wanting to go home, for being ashamed and alot of the tone of the song I can relate to.
This has been an obsession song of mine off and on, the really good songs often go in cycles....it is this one's turn again. I think the stuff with my mom has made me do alot of thinking a introspection of our past together...thus this song popping back up. I will post my favourite song of all time a little later....you know those songs...the ones that you hear and you SWEAR it has been written just for you.
