you know, if you've never experienced racism, first hand, it is easy to dismiss the uneasy feeling as being "paranoid". Many people have grown up in a time, or in a place, that perhaps, it wasn't obvious. In Pasadena, during the 60's, in the high school I went to, John Muir, it was totally integrated. It took me moving to Okrahoma to shed my racist skin. I wasn't racist to *everyone* but my bias against latinos was very apparent and it has cost me friends, which is sad.
Now? I respect, so that I can be respected. Everyone has worth, but it took me way, way, way too long to learn that little gem.
