The baby is here. A healthy whopper of a boy at 8 lbs. 4 oz. and 21 inches. Poor sis. Her resolve to refrain from the use of an epidural lasted for all of about 3 minutes. A good thing, because she was in labor for eight hours. Still haven't seen the tyke. I might get to before I go to work today.

That is all.

Guess what. My sister has (finally) started the long and painful process of childbirth. It actually began around 10:00 last night. She went to the hospital, stayed there until about 3:30 and was then sent home (friggin' BMH) because the contractions weren't "intense enough". After much deliberation (and little sleep) it has been decided that I am not going. I am such a punk.

So I'm heading up to Kentucky to go see grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and miscellany. I'm going to be my immediate family's goodwill ambassador, apparently. Neither of my parents aren't going because they want to stay with my sister in the event of her going into labor. My brother was going to go with me, but the punk backed out. ( Read more... )
