I married off a good friend from high school this weekend. I was a bridesmaid in her wedding and that mostly entailed telling her how beautiful she is and wearing a pink dress with a navy shrug and helping her mother whenever possible. The whole event was on a shoestring budget and was do-it-yourself. It made me wish she has eloped ( Read more... )

When your turn comes you will have all your friends who love you and care for you there to help you plan. I'm sure your friends and family that you were a bridesmaid for in the past would be more than happy to help you with your own wedding.

I know it's not the same as a mother though, and it's perfectly alright to mourn your loss. Actually, I'd like to take that one step further and say it's GOOD to mourn. I know I've mourned over the "loss" of my father, and he's not even really gone.

I know my loss of my mom is somewhat different and I don't know what it's like the way that it happened to you but I can sort of relate...so if you ever want to talk I'm here.

I don't blame you for being angry/bitter about it though, I'd have been PO'd too.
