Yes, I saw that! And then I announced to Dan that you're always several steps ahead of me on the internet, which is one of the reasons why you're cooler than I am.
Also, he was totally right about breakfast places. I would assume I was in a relationship.
Look, knowing about anything happened online makes no one cool. Ergo, we're both lame lame lame.
Also, I have been pondering your statement that this is stuff hippies like, and I disagree. Hippies are generally always white people, because white people have misplaced guilt. But being a vegan and being a hippie are not always linked, and so on. Just because most hippies are vegan doesn't mean most vegans are hippies.
I came to the conclusion that the guy who wrote this is from the west coast, as evidenced by his multiple California/British Columbia references. So, I think he's referring to west coast white people, who are, frankly, different from east coast people. For instance, the concept that white people love being outside, and making other people feel bad for not going outside (to hike, mountain bike, kayak, whatever). This is epically not true of the East Coast. We never go outside. We like air conditioning. Nature frightens us.
And the concept of a person who like hiking, wearing northface gear, granola, yoga, sustainable living, etc, is definitely a west coast kind of hippie person.
