I MISS YOU ALL LIKE A THING THAT IS GREATLY MISSED. I miss you so much I am even trying to teach myself how to use Tumblr, because that is apparently where you have all gone

Also I can tell you that a) I am on holiday from work as of this morning (!), I LOVED the Hobbit, there are ducks outside my window, and my sister's coming home today. This fall has been an exercise in Working While Depressed/Anxious, but today is -- good.
All of these things are exciting -- particularly the ducks. I hope the rest of your holiday continues to be a well-deserved break both from working and from depression/anxiety.
Just keep thinking about those ducks. And that hobbit. Oh, that hobbit. :)
I am isilienelenihin on tumblr because I have one screename, dammit. :D
OH MY GOD THE HOBBIT.
I tried to read The Hobbit in high school just after I finished The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and I couldn't do it. I went from incredibly dense text to a children's book and it wasn't what I was expecting and when the Elves started singing I sort of blinked and then put it down and never went back to it. That said--the movie was FANTASTIC. It was so well done, and they managed to incorporate the songs without breaking the tone which I think is a major accomplishment. I also love the way they framed the story with scenes from The Fellowship of the Ring which didn't make it into the movie. When Bilbo and Frodo were talking about the Sackville-Bagginses I squeed.
Tumblr is awesome because there are shiny things on it, and it's perfect when you're me and have the attention span of a goldfish with ADD.
I LOVED the songs. I remember reading the book when I was very young, but that memory is kind of hazy and not terribly specific beyond DWARVES! DRAGON! BILBO! which honestly I could have gotten from three seconds of the trailer, so I was pretty much delighted and surprised by everything.
I am going to try tumblr. I think I have definitely more of an LJ personality, but I do like shiny things.
I have heard that they're going to be drawing quite a bit from the appendices in 'Return of the King' which I love because the appendices were AWESOME. I expected to enjoy it because I love what Peter Jackson et. al. did with The Lord of the Rings trilogy but I did not expect to be blown clean away. Which I was.
Oh and I LOVED the Dwarves' song! :D The harmonies were beautiful and conveyed the longing and determination and loss they felt so clearly.
I quite enjoy being able to get Jamie and Allison's lovely fic tennis updates on tumblr. :D I am impatient.
It's true. All the really cool kids are doing it. You know, the ones who are just crazy enough to walk up to a stranger and say, with a complete face: "I like your shoelaces," in the hopes of said person responding with: "I stole them from the president."
Anni you should come hang out on tumblr. :D It's a gutter invasion.
I do not use tumblr much, despite having had an account there for something like four or five years. I am a die-hard LJ peep.
I have not seen The Hobbit yet. This makes me have a sad. But the day Bill and I planned to go, Liam was home sick, so that didn't happen. And now I am playing catch up since the boy is finally back in school.
