I'm only about 4 years behind you. I'll be 52 in August. I remember reading an archive of the LA Times, and there was an announcement in it on the day I was born, about classes on the Dead Sea Scrolls starting somewhere. I remember being jealous of classmates who actually had birthdays during the school year. One April, in High School, I told the front office it was my birthday, just so they'd announce it, like they did with other birthdays. :3
A few years later, in college, my birthday was actually the first day of classes. No announcemetns there.

And bask in the head-turning that occurs because you dare to be different. (Although I'd probably be trying not to gag at seeing you eating beets & cottage cheese--not faves of mine--instead of turning my head to see what you were eating.)
Happy Birthday, friend Rose.
