I have to tell you, I think I was the last person in the North American continent to see Avatar. Well, that might be an exaggeration. I might have been the last person in the Southeast US to see it. That all changed a few days ago ( Read more... )

Don't worry you are not the last hold out. My husband and I still haven't seen it. I suspect that will change. One of my coworkers is evangelistic about it and I suspect she intends to hand me her copy and I will have to watch out of politeness. :D

I looking forward to the Cohen brothers remake of True Grit this December.

You will enjoy the movie. The visuals are stunning and it is a great popcorn movie. I just don't wanna see it again. Fine once, but I think I would fall asleep midway on the second show.

I saw some of the clips of the new True Grit and it looks awesome. Who would have thought of Jeff Bridges for Rooster Cogburn? Only the Cohens I guess. :D

I love everything they do. I remember seeing Blood Simple on the festival circuit way back in the day. I think Hudsucker is my favorite though.

I still haven't seen the film. I have no plans to, not and pay to see it anyway. I give Cameron total props for getting the special effects created and together, but the hackneyed story is something I can live without. Alas, I am a cinema curmudgeon.

We watched it on cable, so I suppose I did pay to see it along with half a dozen other movies I liked better.

It is a good movie to escape into. But as far as being something more I don't see it. Even the relationship between the two main characters had little depth to it. I have seen more sexual tension between Disney characters. Actually I cared more that Aladdin would hook up with Jasmine than I did with the Avatar lovers.

*raises hand* I have yet to see Avatar. I hesitate to watch it b/c of all the glorification of the film by those who've seen it.

The movie is not that bad. It is entertaining and quite fun at many levels. I just cannot get all the hype that it recieved.

You would enjoy it. Once. :D

I don't think it's all that either, but it was okay, and I actually enjoy spotting tributes and self-references the filmmaker throws in. It's like a little game. Though my husband is much better at it than I am. :)

I do that with Stanley Kubrick movies. God, you can tell a Kubrick film just from the closing credits! Without Stan's name. LOL.
