Johim was having an acute case of "ooooh, shiny!" goldfish and never noticed a damned thing. ^_^

Godscalck is, if not a good man, then at least an entirely decent one underneath all of the salty grump. ^_^ He's just one of those who's going to complain about it every step of the way.

*snerk!* Oh yes. Because only scribes and money lenders and monks have bad eyes and dear God, think of the ship's reputation if not your own! He's got Theo's back, he just doesn't believe in coddling. ^_^

HAHAHAHAHAH

He's blind :D Well, poor sighted. Still. That really cracked me up. And Theo's full name cracked me up too. Theosphrastus Strotten von Hunhwhatshisfacenowstorm.

EXCELLENT continuation. Very vivid and beautifully paced. MORE, please :D

^_^ Thank you! And oh geeze... 15th century Dutch names were made of FAIL. And waaaaay too many letters that went horribly together. x_x My spellchecker hates them all.

I'm hoping to keep this going all month! Can't wait to see what the next prompt is. ^_^

I really liked the interactions between Johim and Godscalck (clever names too!) Their personalities just sort of bounce right off each other in a perfect way.

I get a great sailor-y vibe from this story; the characters are perfectly blended into their settings and speak like sailors without it being overdone. I also like the nautical references like "drive him over reefs".

Very much enjoyed this piece; good luck to you this week.

Thank you so much! I'm glad the setting and speech are meshing (I kept worrying they might be distracting). Thank you for reading!

This is honestly one of my favorite stories ever! I think I told you that last time, but I really like this story. I love all the characters and I just think this has to be a book so I can read it, front to back without stopping.

Sorry if I sound like I'm trying to like, butter you up or something. I just appreciate this story a lot. :]

♥ I continue to love this story! The interaction between Godscalck and Johim is wonderful, and speaks volumes about the history between them. All of your characters are so well rendered, the plot and the world so well fleshed out, I could easily see this in print. I know that I would buy it :D
