It wasn't the dead that scared John. He hated the dead, the zombies and the corpses, detested them. He'd dealt with his fair share of voodoo-ed zombies in his years, and he knew how to handle them. The dead were dead and gone, and when he wasn't staring at a dead Brendan (Least I saved your soul mate. Sorry if I buggered that all up too, likely as that end result is and all) or Emma (Emma, love, suppose sorry doesn't quite cut it this time around, does it?) or Lester (Fucking hell, Gary, it was your fault now, wasn't it? I had to do it because you couldn't keep from feeding your own habits, both the drugs and the exorcisms, don't blame me), it was easy enough to remember that the dead were dead and gone. They had been walking for quite some time, and Astra proved quite a help. She didn't allow her to fall, or any such thing. In fact, Astra quite lightened her spirits, telling her to be careful with a smile. Assuring her that they would find Constantine and that was that. Alice was very happy in the thought that if they could find Constantine (Who in her opinion, was quite reasonable for an adult, had things very much under control, and therefore would be able to make things a lot less frightening) he would be able to make sense of the terrible things that were all around and could make things better
