And if people even fucking read the gay marriage ban they'd realize it's not even just about that. Now you have to be married to own something in two people's names, and abuse of one partner by another doesn't count as domestic abuse since they're not married. It's about equality, not religion.

I know!! A ton of people are horribly upsetby this because they didn't read the ballot clearly. Admitedly, I think they purposely set it up so it just looked like it was about gay marriage. My theory is they had to limit all those rights in order to make it less about attacking homosexuals, but then presented it in a manner that made it look purely about gay marriage so people would not notice. fucking rediculous. Chris is already seriously thinking of ways to get out of the country if they start hinting at a draft.

Yeah, I suppose if all of us liberals head for the hills they will be no body left to keep this supposed "melting pot" alive. It would be rather interesting if we all left though. Would hisotry teachers 300 years from now discuss this as why a melting pot country doesn't work?

You're optimistic. Roe v. Wade is done for. And I would, but well... Kenyon is the one place in this country I don't mind being. We had people waiting in line for 10 hours to vote and I have never been prouder. My Japanese teacher is on your side though. He applied today for a job in Kiyoto for next year. He said if Bush won he's outta here, and so he's leaving. Good times. I wish I could leave... I am so worried about Roe v. Wade ending- not for my sake, but for the sake of my 5 female cousins, my niece, and my future children.

Yeah, I campaigned heavily against the marriage law amendment. I'm a member of the allied sexual orientations activist group on my campus- ALSO for short. We did a flyer campaign, got nearly 1000 signatures on a petition against the amendment. I mean, damn, it isn't our business. And it has made lives so much more difficult for straights and gays in Ohio. I cried today when Kerry conceded.
