It's a very light grey that we have picked out. It's dark enough that you can tell it's not white, but it's not much darker than that. The stairwell is pretty well lit, so I'm not worried about eating much light with a light grey.
You should see my master "projects" list for our house. It's a LONG list, split into "short term" and "long term." I try not to look at the master list too often.
A couple of notes on the red: 1) have the store tint primer for you. Trust me on this one. 2) Buy enough of your color to do *at least* three coats. For a strong color like red to look good and not blotchy you need three or four coats.
We need a lot of outlets added in the basement - there's only one right now!
Well, originally we wanted to be done by the end of the summer, but since we can't afford an electrician other than one who works for beer and dinner (my cousin) we have to wait until he's got time.
