I look at Kris' Halloween decorations and know that you would think that is SO cool. I want to bitch about clients to you even though lately I felt you really didn't listen when I called. Life now...
It's been 44 days, 17 hours, 48 minutes and 8 seconds since I received the call that has changed all of our lives since. I woke up earlier that morning with this weird pang in my chest. The gift
People hem and haw about when to euthanize their horse, dog, cat, whatever. I get it. I've been there.
But now I want to scream: you have been given a GIFT - the ability to choose when to say goodbye. When to say: it's enough. Enough pain, suffering, lethargy, not eating, etc.
I didn't get that choice for 23 of my animals.

7 months
It's been 7 months (by day of the month) since the fire. The barn is coming along and should be done in a couple of weeks. But while I'm starting to see the light at the end of a very long, dark tunnel, I'm also reverting back into anxiety and PTSD episodes where I envision this happening again. Update on Raylan and Crowder
So... the boys went in today for checkups, heartworm tests, and to be evaluated for neutering. Both are a little anemic and have low proteins - most likely because of parasites. They are loaded with hookworms and whipworms. So, they will be getting a dewormer and metronidazole for that. They are, miraculously, heartworm NEGATIVE! CRAZY that ( Read more... ) -

I got a text from Stacey saying that the boys have snotty noses and an upper respiratory infection. They are now on antibiotics. I hope it stays mild!! 8 days and counting!

Well... I finally was able to help something from afar. I'm sure there's something closer that needs help, but I came across this story and couldn't pass up the opportunity to do a good (albeit crazy) deed.

Buddy
I came home two days ago to find Buddy not feeling well. He was moving very slow and as if he were in pain. I took his temperature and it was 106.5 F! So he went to the ICU at KSU to be evaluated. There was nothing really specific on blood work or initial diagnostics except some lesions in his spleen. I had always been worried about his ( Read more... ) -

My first experience living in snow - this is at the Kansas City Airport on my way home from Thanksgiving with the fam in South Florida - what a change!!!
