In London it's common for charities like Red Cross, Amnesty, etc., to send volunteers out into the street to waylay people and I guess get them to give out their address or something. Since I'm only here for five months and I have no entrance visa, I can't get a job, which includes volunteering (weird, right?), so I'm actually legally exempt. ( Read more... )

Cool, so I picked up a copy of "EXPO 2001" in a comic place called Gosh opposite the british museum, and it turns out to have a story in it by Greg Cook who lives in Gloucester and does a lot of stuff based on historical documents related to Gloucester. So I guess Morrissey is playing here soon, because yesterday all the the little Daily Standard boards that they stick out in front of newsagents and tube stations had posters with this funny little picture of Morrissey playing the violin. I should have snagged one, but who knows what they do with those things at the end of the day.
