Today I learned that there's a company in town that offers synthetic lawns. Like, Astroturf at home. The maintenance guys came by today to mow the lawn. They mowed over our flowers (again). They also moved all the unsightly(?) potted plants off our front step. I tried to say hi and they ignored me (again).

Soon I can mow my own lawn!

So, the cat's out of the bag; we found a house! I'm so excited. It's been really stressful getting the inspection done and the financing in order and waiting for confirmation. But we move between July 11 and August 1.

I dreamt my cat Vanessa's (RIP) paw fell off while she was playing or washing. It didn't seem painful, and I thought, "Oh well, it'll grow back." May 10 - I dreamt that I was running away from something and I hid underneath the stands at a soccer field. There was a guy already hiding there, and I was scared. We realized I actually lost the final game in the Scrabble tournament by 2 points instead of winning by 8. We both forgot to carry a one on the scoresheet! I felt so bad... even though it's just a game, I feel foolish for being happy about my win ( Read more... )

I went to my first Scrabble tournament yesterday. It was just for fun, but I ended up getting second place ...in the lowest division, which had only 10 people, but still! I won a gift certificate to a bakery, yum. I also surpassed my personal record for number of games in a day. It's now at 6 ( Read more... )
