6 days til New York. I have no job, no money, no place to live exept Tara's couch, which she's been immensely generous to offer. I am scared to death of all manner of things (doesn't help that Tara got mugged/semi-strangled in front of her apartment building two nights ago, holyfuckingchrist). But I'm even more scared of standing still, and if I ( Read more... )

holy shit, what happened to tara??? is she okay??

whats your costume?? dont taunt us, ho.

also, how r u scared of being stuck in the same place forever? you're going to korea in a few months. and dc is a pretty new place as is. i hope you dont have the constant feeling of wanting to move elsewhere. relax; you've done more than enough to get your ass out of d8ton.

yeah dude, some guy followed tara into the loading dock (garage-ish area) of her building, threw her against the wall, strangled her (lightly, i believe), and took her cell phone and twenty dollars. she's fine, has a new cell phone, everything is in order. sorry to freak you out, i thought i'd told you! she said she was fine when we talked, but we had to do it on gchat because she still hadn't replaced her phone. guy sounded like an amateur rather than a violent criminal. bushwick ain't the safest of places in brooklyn, but it's where all the cool arty hipsters go, so i guess tara's making some sacrifices. i probably won't be brave enough to tackle bushwick when i look for places to live.

re: d8ton. <3 you for using the numerical version of my hometown. i'm not just restless, at least i don't think so. DC isn't the town for me (and i refuse to come anywhere within a state of Ohio unless it's a holiday). maybe i'm putting myself on the line for the sake of my own whims ("wahhh DC is boring") rather than for something more substantial ( ... )

oh man, terrible. is she traumatized?

where are are you thinking of living?

re: the second paragraph. okay, you got me -- i'm convinced. sounds very reasonable. it just said you were afraid of standing still, etc., and that seemed more general than just wanting to move to nyc. it seemed like it might continue even after nyc, and that fact coupled with you leaving to korea soon anyway, gave me the eternal wanderlust concern.

but all is clarified.

better pull through on the photos.
