[OOC: You can simply post here in OOC and ask for an item your character has been needing and the mods will let you know if they can obtain it and what sort of 'price' in barter they can expect. You're also welcome to barter with other players here or have a booth of your own of things your character has collected outside the wall! Note that such things would typically be very trinket-like as most useful items outside the wall have already be scoured by thieves and cultists.]

Friendly and receptive to meeting new people she'll happily get to know anyone who seems the least bit interested in speaking with her.]

As he looked at all of the new things on the table, scoping stuff out, he looked sideways at the person standing next to him. Was this a zombie? Was it really hard to tell? He was really fascinated by the idea and was kind of half hoping she was... ]

Hi! Looking for something too, huh? Good luck...I think everything is broken.
[She drops a piece of a motherboard back on one of the tables, looking frustrated as she puts her hands on her hips.]
Reply
Broken? That shouldn't be too much of a problem.
[ He picks up the piece of motherboard that she just discarded and while it is more complicated than what he's used to, it doesn't seem like a complete loss. ]
...this probably just needs a few tightened screws.

[She smiles up at him.]
Know how to make one of those? Maybe?
[The hope in her eyes makes her features utterly charming.]

I've never tried before but I'm sure it couldn't be too much harder than making a neurotransmitter or large multipassenger jet.
Reply
W-wow...that's...quite a resume.
Do you make those kind of things a lot?
Reply
No, only one of each.
[ QUALITY OVER QUANTITY, Hank reminds himself. ]
It's a supersonic jet though. If you saw it in person, you'd see why I've only had time to design one.
[ He's only a little proud and it might show. ]

[She grins, her cheery form of sarcasm making it clear that she still thinks his work is amazing.]
I bet...those things aren't small.

He shrugs modestly. His instincts want to say they were no big deal but Hank feels otherwise and catches himself! ]
The transmitter was designed to amplify brainwaves for miles. It's definitely not small by any means!
...you don't need a neurotransmitter, right?
[ Cerebro II? Sure! He'll get started on it right now! ]

[Elena looks confused but also curious.]
Why would you want to...do that?
Reply
[ He says it slowly, not because he's hesitant to tell her about it but more that he's not really sure how to explain it. ]
It amplifies brainwaves through a transmitter once the subject is hooked to the electrodes and...well, it has particular uses. We've mostly used it to locate the exact coordinates of...
[ Hank does a few light hand gestures as he has been throughout his explanation. ]
...of someone we might be looking for. It's pretty useful, I think.
Reply
Can you use it to find anyone?
I mean...there's a lot of people here who are looking for someone, especially among those of us who just got here. That would actually be really useful.
Reply
[ He stops his gestures and looks at her. ]
You mean if I built one here? To help people find others?
Reply
[She nods - that really has a lot of promise.]
Well yeah - might be nice for people to know if their friends are here...
[She swallows.]
Or...if anyone wants to know if someone they know is a zombie now - can the...neuro-thing pick that up?
