old and cranky and stubborn

Our girl Muttley is in general a very pleasant dog.  She is 8 years old and we know she has minor arthritis.  She gets her pills.  There is a ramp for her at the front door because there are 3 steps going up into our house.  as she shows signs of age, she is also getting cranky and stubborn.  She has growled at our other dog, just for being around ( Read more... )

First thing would be to take her to the vet to rule out any other health issue that might be causing her behavior to change.

They put her on 3 baby aspirin a day.

I had a rottie that was 12 1/2 years old he never was mean or snapped at anyone but he did start he was in pain and the aspirin didnt help anymore he didnt even want to get up either. He even started to snap at us so I'm sad to say we had to have him put down we knew it was best for him in the long run.
I hope yours is feeling better now and you still get more years out of her.
