My uncle is okay.  The doctors have no idea how he was able to move because he completely dislocated his spine, which should certainly make you a quadrupalegic.  He came through the surgery well and came off of the ventilator this afternoon.  I'm going down tomorrow for the funeral and to see my uncle.  My mom told him I was coming and he got all  ( Read more... )

I graduate with two degrees on Saturday. Quite an accomplishment, especially because I came from an abusive and very poor home. Yet my family, aunts, uncles, grandfather, NONE of my family, have acknowledged this fact at all. They know full well. What incredible weather. I just spend an hour reading outside while the kids at my second job slept (door open and monitor on the deck next to me) and another hour chalking on the driveway with them.
