[This would be Fuji, doing terrible things to food.

No, I mean, seriously. He has a bag of what looks to be wasabi peas and is cheerfully dumping them into the otherwise innocuous salad. The plates of finished food that are lined up next to him include fried eggs with pineapples, Japanese hotpot that's slowly melting that rather large piece of dark chocolate that he jammed in on a whim, and sardine look-alikes stuffed with pickled vegetables. Everything has a layer of hotsauce on it. Please don't put anything he's made anywhere near your mouth.

... on the other hand, he also has made an assortment of creatively arranged foodpieces. Seems that he's very handy with domestic things, because arranged on a platter are apple rabbits, octapus sausages, creatively shaped riceballs and other fairly artistic things like that. Unlike most of his other unique 'creations', these are actually edible, and are fairly good. He spends too much time reading Asian Fusion cookbooks.

Something like that. [a chuckle as he sets aside the wasabi peas, sticking a spatula into the salad. contemplation as he tosses it!] Hm. Do you think it could use a little more red?

That would depend entirely upon what you intend the red to be. [will just be over here munching on the apples.]

[Peers with an obviously skeptical face, looking like he fully expects something to move or bite him. He eyes Oshitari, waiting to see if he keels over.] I'd worry less about what it's intended to be and more about what it actually is. I'd also advise you to be careful about eating that if it weren't a little late.

[mouthful of apple] These taste fine, Keigo. Bit difficult to corrupt apples.

[Wary eyebrow.] Difficult but not impossible. You're still conscious though, that's a good sign.

If I start feeling as though I've been poisoned I'll be sure to let you know.

I'm not a trained medical professional, Yuushi, what would I do about it? [Considering and wrinkling his nose. That octopus...what's it made of?] It might not be a bad idea in general to find out if this sort of place has emergency numbers.

You could at least make sure to hold a proper funeral. I expect no less than an award-winning eulogy.

I'm actually not sure what they do for human medical care here, now that you mention it. Do you think whatever they do in the Pokemon centers would work on people?

No worries, I'm a brilliant orator.

Don't you think that's a bit worrying? And how should I know? Ask someone from Rikkai, I'm pretty sure several of their team members require shots at the vet.

Perhaps you can try to find out when we get back to town, then~ ...And that's an excellent point, except I don't think those members are here at the moment, so Yukimura might not have needed to find out just yet.

You might be right. Might be worth looking into though hopefully still as a precaution and not a necessity.

And in the meantime, you can avoid eating the more suspicious-looking food and everything will be fine.

That would be the primary plan, precisely. [Feeling adventurous, he snags and apple. Tastes normal and Oshitari isn't dead. Both things are good because he's starving.] I'll just let you eat everything first.
