[ ONE OF THESE THINGS IS NOT LIKE THE OTHERS--

That namely being that among the sea of milling tennis players, there's a girl. A girl leaning rather quietly against a tree, not because she's in any way shy about making the greeting rounds, but because the tennis guys should have their bonding first. It's the first time she's seen them all together, and she pushes away from her spot, rising up on her toes and shading her eyes with a hand. ]

Gee, it's like an endless stream of jerseys out there!

[ she'd figured as much, but she doesn't remark on it, instead doing a little spin and triumphant idol pose. Without wobbling, even, but Rise knows her balance. ]

Congratulations~!

[ Too cute. He shakes his head, laughing quietly. ]

I can't even imagine where you get the energy for that.

You don't usually see a tired idol, do you? [ barring the fact that he has indeed seen a tired idol here. ] You learn to store energy and stamina on the job.

Not a bad quality in a tennis player, either. [ He sounds impressed. ]

[ and she hears it, grinning at him in a rather pleased fashion. ] It's come in handy for that, actually!

[ He grins back, unintentionally, then looks down, as usual. ]

You're just full of pleasant surprises.

[ ducking her head juuust slightly to try and catch a glimpse of that grin. It's a shame he always tries to hide it. ] I didn't think I was surprising you that much.

[ He tries to swallow it when he sees her looking, and winds up sombering his expression only to fight with a smile seconds later, averting his eyes. He doesn't turn his head away this time, though. ]

That much? Maybe not. But so often.

Hmm... well, I'd hate for you to get bored so quickly.

[ ... okay, that's making her grin a little wider. It's somehow cute, seeing him like this. ]

Trust me, no danger of that.

[ He steals a glance at her before looking away again. His grin is back, but he doesn't look down, just - off to the side somewhere; anywhere that's not Rise. ]

Niou-kun, I don't think there's anything on my face.

[futariniousama]

[ He looks back at her and shakes his head, confused.

The purple wristwatch, as if on cue, dissolves into Ditto-like consistency again and rears up on Niou's wrist to smile at Rise. We can fix that, lady. ]

You're kind of...

[ she trails off, blinking down at his Ditto before she tentatively crooks a finger at it in greeting. ]

[ Niou looks from Rise to the Ditto, then extends his wrist skeptically. ]

Don't say I didn't warn you.

[restardom]

I won't hold it against you.

[ note how she is looking just as skeptical when she reaches out. ]
