[ ONE OF THESE THINGS IS NOT LIKE THE OTHERS--

That namely being that among the sea of milling tennis players, there's a girl. A girl leaning rather quietly against a tree, not because she's in any way shy about making the greeting rounds, but because the tennis guys should have their bonding first. It's the first time she's seen them all together, and she pushes away from her spot, rising up on her toes and shading her eyes with a hand. ]

Gee, it's like an endless stream of jerseys out there!

[ Delighted, the Ditto gloms from one hand to the next, oozing its way down to Rise's wrist and transforming into a fashionable purple charm bracelet. It's no longer gooey or sticky, but cold and metallic, and it jangles lightly when she moves. The charms, however, are all Dittos, in different shapes with different expressions.

Niou chuckles. ]

I think it likes you.

[ turning her wrist carefully and lifting it to examine the bracelet, still a little wary but now more intrigued than anything. After a few seconds, she's starting to smile. ]

Awww, it's cute--!

[ The nearest Ditto face to her winks cheerfully. Niou laughs. ]

Yeah, when it's not bein' a dick.

[ Derisive, but not really bothered: ]

You can keep it. Just don't come cryin' to me when you wake up in the middle of the night with a life-sized purple replica of yourself cuddled up to you.

[ He crinkles his nose at her, but doesn't argue; just watches as the Ditto morphs its charms into other purple Pokémon - a Starmie, an Espeon, a Venonat, a Drifloon and a Sableye. Then he rolls his eyes again. ]

[ someone's rather impressed. ] You're more than just a cute face, aren't you?

[ The Drifloon face winks at her in agreement.

Niou, meanwhile, has folded his arms and is examining some distant speck of cosmic dust, and is also not jealous, because that would be silly. ]

[ she glances in his direction, giving the bracelet a gentle tap with her free hand to set the charms jangling. ] Don't worry, you'll get your watch back. [ because surely that's it. ]

I've got like twelve watches.

[ He unbuttons his blazer and opens it with one hand and one motion, revealing three neat rows of four watches each, fixed to the lining. ]

[ she remembers this, briefly, the first time she'd met him in person-- but Rise's fascinated anyway, leaning in closer for a better look. ]

... Well, that's one birthday present ruled out.

[ He laughs a little, pleased that her attention is back on him. ]
