Although you can't really see a lot of it...

It's difficult to pick a favourite here, as I like them all. The one with barbed wire and bare twigs particularly appeals, beautifully framed and focussed. And I like the one with the geese, nice interest point drawing the eye to the bottom of the picture, But I think two and three are my favourites, I like pictures of doors, they are often interesting and that graffiti is such a wonderful contrast in every way - age, colour, shape, era -to the rest of the picture. And again in the next one, the wonderful contrast of the shabby old window and the pristine snow.
Great selection, makes me want to take my camera for a walk tomorrow! Though our snow is gone - for now at least. Thanks for sharing.

Yay, another lover of door pictures! :D They are hard to resist, aren't they. You've described what I liked about the two above perfectly!

Oh and, take your camera and go for a walk tomorrow! It'd be interesting to see the results.
Our snow is nearly gone, too, as is the snow in Belgium by now I believe - these pictures are a week old already.

I've just posted some pics of doors (from my archive) over on scene_again, I was a bit surprised to find quite how many interesting doors I have photographed in recent years!

In my family they always discouraged me from taking the photos as I'd take piccies of things like those windows and not of the family. :D

It's a really interesting batch of photos and I'm particularly charmed by the geese.

Whenever I travel somewhere and take my camera I'm torn between taking the regular, touristy kind of pictures and the oddballs. So I usually do both, and going digital made it so much easier.

As for people, I like taking photos of them, but most members of my family roll their eyes and sigh when I aim the camera at them, or manage to look totally dorky. And my nieces never hold still. So that's no fun *g*

I'm glad though you like taking photos of those windows (and cushions), I think they're grand!

The geese were nice. We wondering if they were just taking a break on their journey south, although it seemed an odd time for geese to be traveling.
Sadly, one of the few downsides of my camera is that it has rather a lot of noise when I up the ISO, and it shows in the geese picture because I had the setting wrong.

Very nice pictures, especially number six and seven are beautiful. You seem to have captured the atmosphere perfectly. :-)

It's only a few km from Aachen, just behind the border but so rural and quiet there - we already went there last year for New Year's Day, it's so relaxing! And with the snow it was beautiful.

I love that look of perfect snow stretching into the distance which you get in the country, much better than the filthy slush which passes for snow in cities. And the top image - lovely blue sky through the bare winter branches and the promise of summer, hopefully?

Really nice, thanks!

Yes, snow in the country is so much better! And we usually don't get much snow in the city where I live.

I admit I'm a summer person, so I'm looking forward to that already, although winter is nice with crisp, clear days and snow.

Thanks, glad they appeal to you :) I love photography, although I'd like to know a lot more about it than I do. Too many hobbies... but at least they're all related, somehow *g*
