I know I wrote briefly earlier today just to say that I was surviving, but I decided to give a full update on my thoughts of the day. There's a lot of 'em, so here goes.

In case you didn't know, it was Becca's/Arwen's baby shower. There were about 20 women and girls here give or take at different moments in the day.

almost 20 women in our house, but i'm holding up rather well. i overheard aunt april talking with mom about me and drew when we were little and i had to hide in the common room because i started to cry. i thought i was over that, but i guess i thought wrong. it's really great to see and talk with aunt april though. i'd better go cuz there's a lot ( Read more... )

Usually a person will spend their entire senior year in high school contemplating the next step in their education. -I got to drive around the Rockford school parking lot for a long time.
-Seth & Becca are visiting (with Arwen of course).
-I'm enjoying the new book I'm reading, Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader.
-Mum's making pizza.

I've suddenly discovered a budding passion for Reggae :-P

The only significant things I've done today are driving the Infiniti G20 up and down our driveway and around our backyard - by myself :) - and beginning to read the State of Michigan "What Every Driver Must Know" booklet. A prospective driver's bible, or so I am told.

One Youth Ministries, the youth group I am a part of at Resurrection Life Church, recently had the brilliant idea of putting an add in the paper, asking for people to send in pictures of their messy yards. We would pick what we thought was the most chaotic of these and, for free, as a ministry, we’d fix it up for them. We got something around seven ( Read more... )

Rain is a beautiful, beautiful thing.

Seth and Becca are now the proud new parents of a little girl, Arwen Elysabeth Mallay. She was born 7:06 AM on August 1st (yesterday), weighing 8.2 lbs and measuring 21 inches in length. I was there for the entire birth, and even got to help the midwives some (Seth and Becca had decided on a home birth, even though it was their first child).

Becca's water broke at midnight. As soon as the regular, strong contractions start, she'll give us a call. Mum & I plan on heading up there to help out in the birth (yea, she's having a home-birth, midwife, pacing husband, the whole deal). For anyone who reads this, please be praying!
