... and now for our first game specific theme:

The World Ends With You

The games which received the most votes in the previous poll were The World Ends With You, the SMT series, Dragon Age, and Chrono Trigger. There's going to be two game specific themes at a time, but due to a combination of cast sizes, differing fanbases, and a number of other factors, the order is going to be:

This time: The World Ends With You / Dragon Age (Which will likely be posted either later today or tomorrow, depending on how long my internet stays up ice blizzards seem to love messing with internet connections)
Next: Shin Megami Tensei / Chrono Trigger (Though the SMT theme may be posted earlier depending on how large the cast size is in the game that wins the specific poll for it.)

New rules that apply to these:
- I'll try to provide a character list with descriptions for each theme, but all characters will be options for most themes. (Provided you don't vote for something like "random female NPC #42 that's always hanging around that fence in that one town." Just use common sense and you'll be okay.)
- You're now allowed to have two applications up at once, but only if your first application has been up for roughly five days. (I.e. if you post an application on a Monday morning, please wait until Friday to post your next one. I'm not going to be harsh with specifics here-- I just want to avoid floods of unstamped applications.) However, if you post an application that ends up being stamped in two days, or any other similar circumstance, feel free to post another theme after being stamped.
-Note that character descriptions contain occasional spoilers. Nothing major in most cases, but when it comes to character development and background, sometimes it's unavoidable if their background is essential for understanding the character.
-Be sure to put the theme you're applying for in the subject line!

How do you feel about having a partner in the first place? Would you like to get to know them better or would you rather be on your own?

... and what role do you think you'd play in the team? Would you heroically charge in first? Offer motivation from the side? Just try to throw tin pins at everything?

Time for your first mission! You have 3 hours. How would you approach it? Nervously freak out, try to do it as quickly as possible, slow and steady, try to make it fun...?

-> While there are a few edits, many of these descriptions were shamelessly copy and pasted from the World Ends With You Wiki, as they were already quite accurate and thorough. ... and it's rather obvious which descriptions I did write, heh.
-> Be sure to thank Breyzyyin for these stamps!

Key terms that may help if you're unfamiliar with the game:

The Game: Every day, the players in the game receive a mission to complete within a given amount of time. Failure to complete the mission results in being "erased," but it doesn't matter which player completes it, as even one team succeeding will result in the other teams being saved. However, only one team is allowed to "win," meaning all other players will be erased.

Reapers: Reapers, on the contrary, are erased if they don't eliminate the players. As such, they exist to provide challenges to the players in an attempt to erase them, and in turn, save their own life.

Also remember that you can vote for any character, not just the ones listed here, although in the case of this theme, only a few minor school girls and shop keepers were left out.

777 is the rather irritable leader of a fictional band. While his band is currently of the "indie" status, he dreams of starting a rock revolution. He is usually friendly towards his fans, but he's known for being controlling of his other band members as he doesn't wish to give up the central spotlight, and he's particularly cold towards his Tech.

Beat tries his best to act tough, but he's really a softie underneath and gets embarrassed whenever people realizes it. At the same time, Beat is very loud and impulsive, and tends to come to conclusions without reason. He's a little dense, but he's a big-hearted person who would do anything for his friends. His parents pressured him to be more like his calmer and more responsible younger sister, to which he decided that giving up was the best way to respond.

Oji gives off the illusion of being snobbish, narcissic, and above most, but he is really very down to earth. He believes that he should use his popularity to help others while not caving in to others' expectations and opinions simply to appease his fans. Despite his many public appearances and his awareness of his popularity, he seems to take no offense from those, like Neku, who are unfamiliar with him.

Futoshi is a slacker, and is criticized often by 777 because of it. He appears to be a scatterbrain as well, forgetting things easily and tuning out people if he is not interested in what they have to say. While his mellow personality allows him to take flak from others in stride, he is not completely carefree, as he seems to bear some repressed resentment against 777 for his hogging nature of the spotlight.

Hanekoma is laid back and enigmatic. He shows many talents, but does not reveal why to most. He has a tendency to show up wherever the characters are to assist them, or drop a clue about their situation. Although he gets a kick out of seeing Neku flustered, Hanekoma often gives Neku the more powerful pieces of advice that he reflects upon throughout the game.

Higashizawa takes great pride in his overwhelming strength and ability to split the ground in two. He also speaks with constant references to food. He has a soft side among the group, as he gets very emotional very quickly. He treats his battles like he is cooking a meal, and after being defeated, he congratulates the players before being erased.

Joshua is a sly and intelligent character with a refined taste and knowledge for the world around him. He prefers to think and act by himself, always keeping his intentions mysterious. Joshua very rarely gets honestly worked up, and is always teasing when he is not sharing information. These qualities make him appear snobbish, condescending, and antagonistic - especially to Neku. Nevertheless, his long history with Hanekoma has ignited a bond of trust between the two. Despite his interpersonal issues, he remains a mature and wise person at heart underneath his attitude. It is also revealed that deep down he is simply just lonely.

While highly capable, Kariya prefers to enjoy his time rather than place effort into tasks he doesn't see as fun. He's laid-back, almost always calm, and often tries to turn his work into a game. Despite his attitude towards it, when he is motivated, he comes across as confident and even takes pride in what he actually does.

Ken Doi is the owner of a ramen shop who focuses entirely on taste rather than flashy appearances that may take away from the actual purpose. He appreciates advice and constructive criticism, and is otherwise passionate about his job and always seeking to improve. He's friendly and cheerful, but also secretive about himself.

Megumi Kitaniji tends to remain in the background throughout most of the game. He's sinister without being over the top, and keeps a level head if his subordinates disobey him. At the same time, his attitude toward the players is that "nothing is sacred." He has a general mistrust of people, but he loves the city of Shibuya more than anything else and seems disappointed if you tell him you dislike it's people as a whole.

Konishi at first seems loyal and often demands respect when the Reapers of lower status address them, but this is just a ruse; she's truly very cold and manipulative and will do anything she sees fit to meet her own ends. She has no tolerance for idiocy and will resort to trickery and mind games to deal with those she considers an annoyance.

When first seen, Makoto lacks confidence and seems constantly nervous about his job, as he seems to have difficulty connecting with young people and making pins seem "cool" to them. After he does eventually succeed at a task he thought was impossible (albeit with unforeseen help), his personality nearly flips and he becomes very assertive, determined, and almost ruthless in his exploits at times. Towards the end, he reverts back to his previous demure personality, although he's more content with his status and not as nervous.

Sho Minamimoto cannot refrain from making a calculation or from telling a math joke during conversation. Arrogant and willing to show it in whatever way necessary, he ceaselessly tries to prove his value and his strength. He has a strange habit of gathering together junk heaps when playing the part of game master, claiming that they are a precisely calculated form of art; this can be viewed as performance art reflecting his views that "The world is garbage" and lacks any beauty.

Nao is a perky ganguro girl. She's upbeat and outgoing, but hides behind Sota when she finds fit. She helps Neku feel better about his circumstance and shows a large amount of devotion to Sota.

Initially, Neku is anti-social and has absolutely no interest in working with others. While the Game demands that he has a partner, he insists that he's better off alone and believes others would only hinder him. However, while he never becomes a shining pillar of love, he does eventually warm up to, and even trust, others to a large extent. Neku is often brutally honest, snarky, and can be temperamental if his right buttons are pushed. He admires the phrase "do what you want, when you want, where you want," though some of the other characters question whether or not he lives up to it. He's uncertain of what he wants to do in life, and seems to admire those who have great motivations.

Rhyme is always wearing a smile and is kind to everyone she meets. Always optimistic, calm, and reasonable, Rhyme manages to keep everyone organized when she's around. Her young and pure heart gives her great love and loyalty. She encourages everyone around her, and she appears to have no dreams, except to help Beat.

Shiki tries her best to help others. If she has something to say, she won't hesitate to say it. She always acts kind and positive. Despite the happy attitude she likes to show, Shiki feels inferior or useless to others, which make her jealous of her idols. While these feelings haunt her for a time, she eventually tries her best to not let these feelings affect her and turns them around into positive ones. She is an amazing seamstress and wants to be a fashion designer when she grows up.

Shuto Dan is majorly known for his loud, overly enthusiastic attitude and his consistent naivete. He is strong-willed and brave-hearted. Most ready to jump into anything, he can be a little over-confident, but he's a good sport and shows constant positivity.

Nao's protective boyfriend who, much like Nao, assists Neku ease his concerns and open up to others. However, unlike Nao he faces situations head-on and tends to have a bit of a hero complex.

Yashiro is a perfectionist when it comes to her occupation, and when she is restricted from working hard, it drives her crazy. Like many reapers, she has a disregard for the lives of Players and values each competitor as little better than trash, which only increases her zealous demeanor. Prone towards being obsessive, arrogant, and short-tempered, her partner Kariya is shown to be the only one who can calm her down when she's particularly impassioned. She eventually pledges to rise through the ranks to make the game more rewarding for all Reapers, with Kariya's help.
