Last class of the term today... pretty grim stuff, about post-apartheid South Africa and post-genocide Rwanda.  The question was whether real forgiveness and reconciliation can happen between ethnic groups in such places, and we didn't really come to an answer, but all agreed it was tough. Did you read Country of My Skull by Antje Krog?

I've done absolutely nothing productive today except take a bath that was WAY TOO HOT and sit here and worry about where I'm going to be in May. Good grief.

No... but after reading the review of it on amazon, it would have been very appropriate - it is exactly what we brushed over, the TRC. I'm not sure if I want to delve deeper into all of this traumatic stuff - I've spent enough time in the past feeling outraged at the injustices people do to each other...

I didn't get too much more done today, either - so much for that promise. I did spend a couple of good hours in the library, though. That place is always better when you don't have to work there. ;)

Yeah, it's a traumatic book. I was crying most of the time I was reading it.
