Mt. Benson
Hiking Mt. Benson yesterday was fun. Just as we got into Emily & Tom's car to drive to the trailhead, it started raining, so I was a bit worried that it would just be a wet slog. We just watched Charlie Chaplin's film The Great Dictator. It was remarkably light, given the subject matter, lots of dancey slapstick and even a food fight. Worth watching just for the speech at the end. Here is an excerpt ( Read more... ) -
SPRING
The other day I ripped up the excess chickweed in my garden, shoved it into a garbage bag, somehow managed to cram that into my bicycle bag (it was a lot of chickweed, but it was compressable) and biked it over to a friend's place to feed to her ducks and chickens. She left a present for me outside her door.

Being this tired makes me want to eat all the things.
I baked this seed & nut "bread" before work today (soaked it overnight beforehand). It's delicious. I recommend it. Did I mention it also happens to be gluten free, for those of you who don't like the gluten?

My only so-called "resolution" for this shiny new year is to eat less refined sugar, once I've finished the rum balls in the freezer (there are only three left now!).
