Selling the Crapice =(

Aww nuts, I should've sold this in the spring instead of procrastinating, since I've got a "new" winter beater.  Now the dang tranny is stuck in Park and I'll have to sell it as a "tow-away".

This mobile landmark is known by various names:  "The Crapice", "Blue Monster II", "The Atari Car", and probably some others I'm glad I haven't heard.

That's a shame. The Caprice Classic is a classic. An icon of America's long-gone musclecar years. I shed a tear for thee. *sniff*

On the bright side, you should be able to get some decent money for it, if it only needs the tranny replaced. I've heard there's high demand for spare parts for Caprices, since they were so popular & GM hasn't made Caprice parts for a long time. Just promise me one thing ... don't submit it for the government's cash-for-clunkers program, where they fill the engine with epoxy & crush the body ... now that'd be a real shame.

1. It's got a cop motor, cop suspension, cop brakes, cop transmission.... The new Blues-mobile!

2. It's one model year newer than my AnalProbe! (Which the exhaust fell off of yesterday, with a cop behind me). For some reason all of that clanking and sparks coming out from under the car must have appeared to be normal to him. I'm assuming a history of owning beaters is the first thing that pops up when they run my plates...)

3. It's not an SUV, but probably could beat one in a demo derby!

4. Ronald McDonald cannot escape being run over by a car this wide, especially with hamburglar behind the wheel.

I suppose you'll miss that car, but I'm sure you'll get over it. I've owned at least 60 cars, trucks, jeeps etc... There were many that I went off the deep end fixing up, most of these I said I'd never sell.

So let me guess, you're new car was that WRX parked behind me? Nice!!

Yup! But it's actually a pre-WRX, 2.5RS (no turbo; the big hood scoop is a "decorative" carryover from the Euro&Jpn models from that year).
