Poor Wilson. Can I breathe now? Is he going to be all right? I found the description of the pneumatic procedure fascinating. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for commenting. My husband actually had a detached retina about 15 years ago. From what he described I was able to look up the procedure. And the drive - pretty much as it really happened. I raced (3 hr drive) and my husband didn't tell me that every bump was making it worse. By the time we arrived he couldn't see anything - but he had a perfect repair!!

Oh my! The story means even more to me now. You and your husband actually lived the experience. That three hour drive must have been harrowing for both of you. I'm so glad the procedure was a success and restored his sight. <3

Very good! I love a nice long sick!wilson story. You did a great job making everything realistic - Wilson, House, the medicine, the feeling of panic, etc. A great read! :)

Yes. I had the bubble the first time and a contact lense the second. The bubbles a lot better! Next Week I go to see about removing a caterac. I'll ask for the bubble again.
