Saturday morning while he was at the babysitter's house, I converted Ilya's crib into a toddler bed. We're calling it his "Little Boy Bed," and he's still excited that he's in a little-boy bed now and not a crib anymore ( Read more... )

For the first time since Feb. 5, 22 days ago, less than half my lawn is covered with white stuff!

And I can see March from my weekend.

There is hope. Even you folks in NY and PA that just got slammed by "the northeaster that finally figured out where northeast is," as some are calling it here in the DC area, will eventually see spring ( Read more... )

That's what my boss just said when he stopped by my desk.

Given that my timesheet says I've only been in the office for only 14 hours since the close of business on January 29, he's got a point.

I'm very very glad that day care reopened this morning, so I could finally go in to work. I love my kid, but I'm ready for a few hours away from him.

The storm was gone this morning, the sun rose and warmed things up, the plows came through, and my driveway's shoveled.

There's a pretty good chance of more white stuff on Presidents' Day, though, but that's four days away. I'm not even gonna think about that right now.
