Every year around Halloween at UVA, a bunch of dudes dress up as zombies and lurch horde-style from one end of campus to the other, making sure to wind through the hallways of Cabell Hall around noon (i.e., peak class changing time). Today in lab I was promised that I would be able to wear a lab coat and spin (above my head) quartz tubes filled with molten magnesium-cerium. I did not get to do this. Summer apartment move-in operations were conducted yesterday. It's a pretty snazzy place overall, minus the surprises the girls left us in the form of biological life.
