Alfred's years of distinguished service should be enough to exempt him from that list of potential no-good-doers. He's a model butler, in my opinion.

I was just talking to Mike about this, and apparently there was a time when some mad scientist did something crazy to Alfred so that he fought Batman a handful of times. I don't think I ever got that far into the comics.
